Midnight Sun program in Swedish Lapland

The endless days in itself is something unique. When you fill them with sparkling life the experience is complete. As the sun never sets, you’ll get to enjoy a traditional dinner in a Lappish tee-pee served on wooden plates. You’ll encounter Storforsen, Europe’s highest untamed rapids with activities as lasso throwing, mountain biking and canoe slalom. You’ll pay a cultural visit to the church town of Gammelstad - a UNESCO World Heritage, and finally you’ll be eating a three-course gala dinner.

Day schedule

  • Day 1 – Day of arrival

    Day 1 – Day of arrival

    Arrival at Luleå Airport.Transfer to Nordkalotten Hotel, approx 5 min. Check in at the hotel.

    Welcoming cocktail with local snacks in the hotel.

    You will enjoy a traditional dinner in the Lappish tee-pee. When the guests enter the tee-pees a welcome drink is served. Candles are burning and you will have the meal served on wooden plates.

  • Day 2 – Activity day

    Day 2 – Activity day

    After breakfast transfer to Storforsen Waterfall area (approx 1,2 hours).

    Guided tour in the outdoor museum close to the waterfall. After the tour an outdoor lunch will be served. After lunch time for multi actities such as mountainbiking, lasso throwing, canoeslalom etc. Transfer back to the hotel, approx 1,2 hours.

    A three course dinner will be served in a restaurant in the city, approx 8 km from hotel. After dinner transfer back to the hotel.

  • Day 3 – Cultural day

    Day 3 – Cultural day

    Transfer to Luleå and Gammelstad – Unesco World Heritage (approx 20 min). A guided visit in the old church town listed on the UNESCO word heritage list, with its interesting history. Gammelstad has a 15th century church that is surrounded by 424 small wooden houses, the church cottages.

    The tour ends up at Hägnan, the open-air museum where you will have traditional activities such as thin bread baking, making candles, Santa’s workshop, making your own nail that brings luck with the local blacksmith. There will also be possibilities for handicraft shopping in the shops. Lunch is served in the museum area.

    In the late afternoon transfer back to the hotel.

    A three-course Gala Dinner is served at the hotel.

  • Day 4 – Departure day

    Day 4 – Departure day

    Breakfast buffet in the restaurant.

    After breakfast transfer to the airport.
